Finally managed to beat the Youtube run by close to a second! I'm a terrible masher in general so I didn't think I could pull this off. Even now there are still ~20 seconds to be saved but I'm not the player to do that!

Finally got a good deathless run on arguably the hardest NES game! Only ~16 seconds off my theoretical best time, which is excellent given how random and full of BS this game is.

The previous best time I could find on the Internet (also in-game time) was 3:29 so I am pretty happy with this! Lost arguably 1 second to execution (still not sure how damage works on phase 2 Pizza Pasta), the rest was all Sandman luck.

After my toughest competition ever in speedrunning, here is my end result. Huge thanks to dxtr (http://www.twitch.tv/dxtrslab) for pushing the game to this point, and everyone who found new strats! Sub-10:20 is possible with perfect execution and even better luck than I got in this run, but because of all the luck you can't realistically optimize this game to Ninja Gaiden levels.

OK, I feel much better about this time than last night's! Had gotten that 20:55 earlier that same night too, so I'm starting to feel good for the race now. Just need to grind some specifics more... FYI: Not submitting this to SDA because it still has some big mistakes and I want a deathless run for that.

Finally took the record back from Vega4993 (http://www.twitch.tv/vega4993)! This game definitely needs a new SDA run with what we've discovered, and I think sub-21 would be a reasonable goal for that.

Splatterhouse (MAME) - Speedrun in 14:02 (NEW WR)

Finally! I just wanted to break the record before Hurricane Sandython, so I'm definitely pleased with this. I don't see myself trying to push this any farther since I can't play this game on console; I'll leave it to zallard1 and greenk4 to get the sub-14 for SDA! For future reference, sections where time can be gained over this run: Stage 2 boss (once we figure out strat w/ quick kill on chair), Stage 3 boss, Stage 4 boss, Stage 5 chair room + necromancer + boss, and Stage 6 boss.

New personal best for me, ~2 seconds behind zallard1's world record! A lot of improvement is still possible on the majority of the bosses in this run, so a time around 13:55 or so is definitely possible.

i used to think e6m7 was the worst map in this game. prob still is for 100% but otherwise, this one takes the cake protip: dont have ur speakers 2 loud 4 this 1
