A thunderstorm swept into downtown Tokyo, including my neighborhood on the north end of inner Tokyo. As the rain intensified the lightning increased and moved closer until it was right over us. One strike hit our building at just before 12 minutes past midnight, and the lightning continued in our neighborhood for another 5 minutes before moving on.
We return and stop in front of a shop to greet the owners and also to say farewell to the neighboring members.After a short break we resume carrying the mikoshi for the last time.
After resting and chatting with the neighboring team over beers we head back out one last time with them joining us. We went over to their headquarters and gave them a rousing celebration. To be continued....
