Dark Souls - Gargoyle Boss

During my first play through, I killed the gargoyle boss without any summons. It took me over 90 minutes. You can calculate how many attempts I did because each attempt yielded 440 souls and I had over 11860 souls at the start of the fight. That's at least 25 attempts.
