I started running this on 03/04/2013. I run 3 categories:

any% (Beat the game as fast as possible). I don't like this category much because of the dependence on getting one particular secret exit - lose either power-up and your run is completely over.

All Mushrooms (Beat the game whilst defeating every boss in the game). This is my favourite category. You just take the most direct route through every boss, utilising a ton of awesome item-management shortcuts and everything as you go. It's fast-paced, it uses every ability in the game at least once, and it's just overall fun to watch. This to me would be the best race category, as there are enough backup strats to recover from any failures. The only downside is that a boring auto-scroll stage comes in 1 minute into the run, so when resets are plentiful that will be a very commonly seen stage!

55 Exits (Beat the game whilst getting every exit in the main game) A new category that, as far as I know, only I run. Basically All Mushrooms but with additional levels and exits. I don't think there is AS much awesomeness as in All Mushrooms, but as a fresh category there is much to explore within it. Which makes me excited for it!

Due to how little this game is run, I believe I hold the WR for each of these categories right now. Verifying this for doujin games is extremely difficult, especially when you cannot understand Japanese (and therefore cannot search their sites for records), but all of my searching so far shows my runs to be the best. Only any% has been raced on SRL. I have seen just one run of All Mushrooms before, and I am now over 10 minutes faster than it... so yeah, not a commonly run game!
