This is heartbreaking, even if it beats the time I was aiming to submit by about 15 seconds. And it was totally my fault too--I got greedy with the lasers and paid for it. Strangely, that's probably why I got this time--that was about the best possible place I could have died. This is missing the first minute or so.

I don't handle this optimally. My initial plan was to leave the Grand Cross piece for last, then Magic Lamp it for the insta-win. I eventually get pissed off enough at Cuteserker to say "screw it" and Magic Lamp it early after a chat suggestion. From there, it's just a matter of killing the last two parts evenly to avoid Neo's "F You Mode" of double turns/acquiring the attacks of the other forms.

Buff up like crazy, whittle him down a bit, wait for him to attack, then go crazy with the big damage spells in the hopes of avoiding his "F You Mode" Meteor. It works, thankfully.

Success! :D In the GBA version of FFV, the Mirage Vest is glitched--for whatever reason, when you switch your weapon setup around, the game resets the state of your Mirage Vest, so you can essentially keep Blink on indefinitely. That was one reason I won (Though not the primary one).

I get him on the ropes. But then! Disaster! Stupid sexy Chicken Knife. In hindsight, I guess it's kind of lucky it actually took me that long to get the Knife's effect.
